"The Return Voyage / El Tornaviaje" - a mural executed as part of "La Rueda Promotora Cultural", a non-profit organisation whose mission is to promote the arts with a social vision and cultural values amongst the community and to generate new spaces in which visual artists can make a cultural contribution to the city of Puebla by encouraging social integration, tolerance and harmony.
The wall is situated at Calle 14 Norte / 8 Oriente, in El Barrio Alto, one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Puebla. The wall itself is around 300 years old, 16 x 8meters wide and high.
I have managed to externalise my research topic here in Puebla by painting a mural that intends to show the cultural links between Mexico and the Philippines. This mural is a reminder that there is a lot that connects us . Roots need to be dug up and bridges need to be re-established.
